Tar Heels rise one spot to #18 in AP Top 25; Kentucky still solid #1

Week 9 Rankings have been released and here is the rundown:

AP Top 25

ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll

The latest polls are in and Carolina rises one spot to #18 in the AP Top 25.  Last week, Carolina cruised to victories over William & Mary (86-64) and Clemson (74-50).  This week Carolina will host two ranked conference opponents with a game Monday 1/5 versus #13 Notre Dame and then on Sat 1/10 the Heels will play #5 Louisville.

ACC teams in this week's poll are:

#2    Dook  (13-0)
#3    Virginia  (13-0)
#5    Louisville  (13-1)
#13  Notre Dame (14-1)
#18  UNC (11-3)

Kentucky was the unanimous #1 choice for the fifth straight week.  Teams in the Top 10 last week that lost this week are Villanova and Iowa State.  Nova remains in the Top 10 but Iowa State falls all the way to #17. The Top 10 in order are Kentucky, Dook, Virginia, Wisconsin, Louisville, Gonzaga, Arizona, Villanova, Utah, Texas.

No other ACC teams received a vote for the AP Top 25 this week.
