ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll

The latest polls are in and Carolina jumps one spot to #12 according to the AP Top 25.  Last week, the Heels defeated Syracuse in Chapel Hill 93-83 on Monday night and then lost to #10 Louisville 78-68 in OT on Saturday afternoon.  The Heels host a Top-5 squad, Virginia, Monday evening (2/2/) coming off its loss to Dook Saturday night.  Carolina will also begin a three-game road trip after UVA which begins against Boston College on Saturday (2/7).

ACC teams in this week's poll are:

#3    Virginia  (19-1)
#4    Dook  (18-3)
#9    Louisville  (18-3)
#10  Notre Dame  (20-3)
#12  UNC (17-5)

Kentucky is once again the unanimous choice for the #1 spot.  With UVA's loss to Dook, Kentucky is the only unbeaten team remaining in the country.  A few shake-ups within the Top 10 but there are no newcomers in that elite group, just a little mix up here and there.  The Top 10 in order are Kentucky, Gonzaga, Virginia, Dook, Wisconsin, Arizona, Villanova, Kansas, Louisville, Notre Dame.

Two Out

Miami (Fl) (was #23)

No other ACC teams received votes for the AP Top 25 this week.
